Teen queen Ashley (15) can teach them a thing or two about beauty

Have your say

A 15-year-old Kirton school student showed she has both brains and beauty by storming through the first leg in a national beauty contest.

Ashley Gardner has won herself a place in the semi-final of Miss Teen Great Britain 2012.

Ashley, who goes to Middlecott School in Kirton, aspires to be a primary school teacher but also has an interest in modelling.

Daughter of Boston Borough Council’s senior people’s services advisor Becky Gardner, Ashley has beaten off nationwide competition to be named as one of the semi-finalists.

The grand final, which will be held in March at The Globe in Blackpool, will see 60 aspiring models competing to win some incredible prizes – including £1,000 in cash.

The finalists will spend a fun-filled weekend in Blackpool, spending a day on the pleasure beach and having a pyjama diva party.

Her mother, who entered her into Miss Teen Great Britain as a surprise, will be going along with Ashley to support her at the event.

Ashley, who lives in Wyberton, said: “I am so excited to have made it to the semi final, it is a great achievement. Making it to the grand final would be a dream come true – fingers crossed I will be able to represent Boston and win the Miss Teen Great Britain crown.”
