PUPILS from two of South Holland’s primary schools have been getting hands-on experience of how to grow their own potatoes.

Groups from Long Sutton and Holbeach Bank primary schools took part in a day of planting coordinated by the Potato Council at Worth Farms, part of QV Foods at Holbeach Hurn.

The children were given a brief talk on the life cycle of potatoes and they planted the seed potatoes they had chitted in advance. The potatoes will be harvested by the youngsters in June.
