A Sutton Bridge schoolgirl is delighted to have raised more than £300 for charity by
having her waist-length hair cut off.

Lucy Bourne (9) has always had long hair but decided the time was right for a change and has generously donated her long locks to The Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland who have sadly lost their own through cancer treatment.

As well as donating her hair – which was cut by Amy Portor at Spruce Up! Hair and Beauty Salon, in Long Sutton – Lucy has also been collecting sponsors for the trust, and has raised more than £300.

“We’re absolutely overwhelmed by all the sponsors and how much she has raised,” said her proud mum, Saralee Bourne.

“We just want to say a massive thank you to Amy and everyone who has supported Lucy.

“She was incredibly nervous before she had her hair cut, but we’re so very proud of her for wanting to help other children.”
