Market Deeping gift and card shop Cloud Nine recently gave some members of Age Concern in the Deepings a surprise tea party at St Nicholas House.

Thirty older residents, four volunteer helpers and two drivers were treated to a “splendid afternoon with a delicious tea”, by Alison, the owner of Cloud Nine.

Alison has made Age Concern her charity of the year and has already made generous donations to the group and offered prizes and gifts for their various events.

Peter Hubbard from Age Concern said: “Nobody had any idea where they were going or anything about payment. I introduced Alison, and said it was through her kindness and generosity that they were treated to this surprise tea party. They were really appreciative and everyone said they thought it was a good afternoon.”

The group is pictured enjoying the hospitality at St Nicholas House. To find out more about Age Concern’s services in the Deepings area, ring Peter on 01778 348987.
