Trees brought down by strong winds across South Holland, police warn

Emergency services are on alert in South Holland because of strong winds, with reports of trees blown to the ground.

One tree branch was sheared and fell to the ground outside Ayscoughfee Hall and Gardens where the annual 1940s' Festival is taking place this weekend.

A message on social media from South Holland Sector Neighbourhood Policing Unit said: "We are receiving a high volume of calls in reference to fallen trees.
