SOME 140 people turned out at an open-air service for Spalding’s Good Friday Act of Witness and Remembrance.
The annual event, organised by Churches Together in Spalding and District, saw processions on either side of the River Welland from St Mary and Nicolas’ Church and St Thomas’s Road Methodist Church.
The two congregations each carried a crucifix and joined together in Hall Place for hymns and Bible readings from St Mark’s Gospel, read by different ministers from across the town.
Music was also provided by the different churches involved.
Refreshments were provided after the service at Broad Street Methodist Church.
