It's a dream come true for Long Sutton big sister

A Long Sutton teenager will study at one of the top medical universities in the world after pursuing a dream inspired by her little sister.

Abigail Bates (18) first spoke of becoming a doctor six or seven years ago when cerebral palsy sufferer Alice, now 12, was undergoing a medical procedure at a Nottingham hospital.

Free Press readers have taken Alice to their hearts, fundraising to buy her a powered wheelchair in 2011 and two years ago helping her to have an amazing, year-long celebration for her 10th birthday.
