Carol Mackenzie, of Moultons Parish Council, said: "A villager contacted me to say there were far too many accidents at the corner of Bell Lane and High Road.

"So I asked the highways department to investigate whether the speed limit could be reduced."

Graeme Butler, of Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership said: "We are currently looking at ways to improve safety along the A151 at Weston and Moulton.

"Measures being considered include changes to the speed limits and the installation of reactive signs.

"We will need to secure the necessary funding if we are to take things forward and any proposed changes to the speed limit would require public consultation.

"At this stage, there is no firm timescale as to when changes may be introduced, but we are keen to progress this as soon as we can."
