A fabulous night out for the girls has raised more than £1,600 to boost the hospice at home service run by St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice.

The money was raised at the eighth annual Lipstick and Champagne Ball, staged at Springfields Events Centre in Spalding.

Vikki Allen, the St Barnabas community fundraiser, said the 130 ladies attending enjoyed a glass of pink fizz on arrival, seized the moment to have some keepsake photographs on the patio before enjoying a three-course meal, and then the party atmosphere moved up a gear.

"We had the band, Starstruck, who travelled from Grimsby to entertain us," said Vikki. "They were brilliant - they have a female vocalist - and all the ladies were up and dancing once they had enjoyed their meal. We couldn't get them off the dance floor."
