Staff at Spalding-based recruitment firm Encore Personnel have raised more than £20,000 for two charities.

The company, which has nine offices across the UK, donated the money to the British Heart Foundation and Cruse Bereavement Care.

Director Chris Hockey said he was delighted with sum of money raised, which amounted to £10,216 for each charity.

He said: “It’s great to see everyone in all the offices getting on board and doing their bit for charity. We are proud to have raised so much money for two extremely worthwhile causes.”

The Encore team raised the money through a series of different events and challenges.

For example, a team of 12 energetic volunteers from across the business raised more than £11,000 by completing the 24 Peak Challenge, in which they had to conquer 24 peaks in the Lake District within 24 hours.

Other fundraising activities included charity walks, ‘dress down’ days, quiz nights and golf days, in addition to more than £2,000 being raised in collection buckets in the offices.

Chris added: “The British Heart Foundation was chosen in memory of one of our team members who tragically passed away last year.

“Cruse Bereavement Care has worked closely with members of our team, offering vital support during an extremely difficult time.”

Encore Personnel, established in 2002, is based in New Road in Spalding.
