Spalding High School maths students do themselves proud

Four students from Spalding High School travelled to King’s Lynn for the AMSP Year 10 Maths Feast.

Megan Seaman and Jennifer Burke (both 10C), Grace Wallace (10N) and Melissa Wales (10J) competed at Springwood High School against teams from ten other schools around south Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

The four food-themed rounds (starter, main, dessert and petit fours) tested not only students' maths skills but also their teamwork and communication.

The High School team did brilliantly well, coming third overall as well as winning the Higher or Lower round. Its score of 84 was only three behind the winners, hence the entire journey home being spent agonising over the points they could have scored!
