Fireman Sam probably never learned how to use a heat-seeking camera, but children in Year 2 at Ayscoughfee Hall School do!

The youngsters used the device and spent time in the cab of a fire engine during a visit to Spalding Fire Station, when they were made very welcome.

Having been shown the facilities on a fire engine and tried on a helmet, the youngsters watched a fire safety DVD. The firefighters complimented the children on their knowledge of what to do in case of fire, and on how well they knew their addresses.
