Road closures for next month’s Spalding Pumpkin Festival have been announced.

The popular event takes place on Friday, October 9 and promises to be a spectacular day out for families.

The only roads that will be closed for the whole day are Sheep Market and Market Place/Hall Place, as follows:

* Sheep Market: 7am-9.30pm;

* Sheep Market car park: Closed all day;

* Market Place/Hall Place: 9am-9.30pm (these areas are already pedestrianised from 10am-4.30pm so this closure is an extension of traffic restrictions already in place);

Six other roads will be shut as part of rolling closures between 6pm and 8pm in order to allow the Parade to pass through.

Advance notification signs will advertise these closures, however it is expected that these roads will be re-opened sooner than 8pm.

The roads affected by the rolling road closures are:

* Station Street/Spring Gardens;

* London Road;

* Haverfield Road;

* Priory Road;

* High Bridge;

* The Crescent.
