Christmas meal for Spalding branch of RBL
Members of the Spalding branch of the Royal British Legion enjoyed a traditional Christmas meal at the Riverside in Surfleet.
They were able to reflect upon their part in commemorating the Armistice this year - the Spalding branch has been responsible for organising the annual Remembrance Day service at Ayscoughfee Gardens for many years.
Reflecting upon that day a few weeks ago, Chairman Frank White said he was delighted that so many people attended to show their respects with some estimates of the attendance put at 9,000 people.
The Legion is keen to recruit new members to help with the various activities planned. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 35b, Spring Gardens at6pm - anyone interested in joining is asked to come along and make themselves at home!
