A Pinchbeck charity worker is turning his attention to the oven in an attempt to fund a new sensory garden for the village.

Matt Rogers, a Support Worker for Sense which helps people with learning and communication needs, is manning a cake stall on market day in Spalding this Saturday from 8am.

Shoppers and families can take part in a raffle, tombola and name the bear competition, as well as buying cakes, drinks and other refreshments.

Matt said: "I've arranged with the people who operate Spalding Market to have a fundraising stall on Saturday in aid of a new sensory garden in Pinchbeck.

"I've put a lot of effort and my free time into getting the stall, along with asking local shops to donate prizes towards our raffle.

"There have also been posters handed out for traders to put in their shop windows and for businesses to leave in staff rooms.

"Both my manager Sam Wheatley and area manager Vanessa Hart have backed me in trying to reach out to the community through the market stall.

"People are making lots of cakes for the stall and I'm sure the day will be a success."
