And the Man Booker prize goes to... Spalding Library.

In fact it was the artistic way librarians there created an imaginative display inspired by the 2016 International Man Booker Prize Shortlist that earned them top prize in a national award.

Their artistic rendering of the books in the Man Booker shortlist won them the Display Competition prize.

The Reading Agency supports the annual competition, providing free materials with which librarians can let loose their creative flair.

The imaginative displays are intended to stop customers in their tracks and encourage them to find their next favourite read.

This year, feather and star motifs taken from the books’ themes and book jackets were artfully displayed in three dimensions.

Spalding Library wins copies of the shortlisted titles for library users to enjoy.

Team leader Sharman Morriss said: “GLL want to welcome more people into Lincolnshire libraries and making our stock, environment and services as attractive as possible is key to this.”
