New rose for Spalding's Ayscoughfee Gardens

A rare and symbolic ‘Peace Rose’ was planted in Ayscoughfee Gardens in Spalding as part of the commemorations of the centenary of the end of World War 1 and to mark the annual World Peace Day.

The event, organised by the Inner Wheel Club of Spalding in conjunction with Ayscoughfee, saw club president Carole Cooke and Ayscoughfee head gardener Dan Cooper plant the special Peace Rose, which was created in France in 1939.
