Guests will be treated to a seaside feel, at this year’s beach-themed annual ball in aid of the Johnson Community Hospital, Spalding.

This year’s ‘A Beach Ball’ event on July 9 will once again raise money to directly support patients, visitors and staff at the hospital.

Proceeds are divided between the hospital’s League of Friends and Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) Charitable Funds.

This follows overwhelming pledges of support to keep the ball running after it was announced that last year’s would be the last.

Speaking about the ball being back, Sister at Johnson Community Hospital and ball organiser, Sally Brown said: “Following the announcement that 2015 would be the last ball, the committee was swamped with requests for it to continue.

“We are delighted that some new members came forward and were taken on to replace members that had indicated they were leaving and we are pleased to announce that the Johnson Hospital Ball will continue to raise further funds towards the chosen charities.”

On the night from 7pm, guests can expect to dance the night away at Springfields Events and Conference Centre, Spalding, with music from the fantastic eighties tribute band The Wild Boys and Leo’s Promotions Disco.

The fun doesn’t end there; guests can also expect dinner and the chance to participate in the grand prize draw.

Sally added: “We really hope to create a real seaside feel for the guests and while the dress code remains formal, we are allowing a slight twist for gentleman to brighten the night with Hawaiian shirts if they so wish.”

This will be the ball’s eighth year and to date it has raised more than £21,000, all of which has gone back to support those who use and work at Johnson Community Hospital.

Tickets were priced at £37.50 each and are currently sold out with 500 guests expected on the night. A reserve list for returned tickets is in place and can be signed up for at www.johnsoncommunityhospital.com.
