Gaz Evans, hockey player for Spalding Hockey Club, put on stockings and suspenders to raise money for a cancer support group in 1995.

He was challenged by team mates to take to the field in the unorthodox kit during a festival the club hosted and managed to raise £90.

The money was presented to Pauline Fawcett of the Spalding Breast Cancer Support Group at a presentation evening at The Birds in Spalding.

Gaz said: Someone bet me £10 I wouldn’t play in stockings and a skirt and I said I would if they raised enough money.”
