Spalding High U16 netball team represented Lincolnshire against the best school teams in the country.

The East Midlands tournament in Nottingham was their last one together after five years of success.

And they did extremely well to finish third – only just missing out on the final.

They beat Notts and Northants champions Nottingham High School and Quinton Hall (last year’s winners) respectively, then lost to Repton School (Derbyshire) and narrowly, 4-5, to Loughborough High School (Leicester) to finish third in the group.

They then beat Northampton High School in the third place play off to finish an excellent day.

There were tears at the end of the tournament as the girls reflected on five victorious years together.
