Organisers of this year’s Spalding Health and Fitness Show say they were thrilled with how well the day went and hope it will continue to grow year by year.

It was the second time the show has been held and this year it was hosted at Springfields Events and Conference Centre, featuring lively fitness displays of Zumba, a step class, ‘Glow’ exercise, martial arts and Laughter Yoga.

Visitors to the show on Sunday enjoyed browsing the stalls inside and indulging in pamper sessions such as reflexology or facial treatments, as well as talking to the experts about health, fitness, nutrition and well-being.

Outside, people could have a go at archery sessions while Lincolnshire Fire Service brought along a fire engine in the morning for children to look around.

Zoe Myall, of Give It Some Fizz Fitness, Sports and Education, who organised the event along with Holly Barrett, said: “We had around 400 people attending the event, which is even more than last year.

“Our aim was to put on a show that brought together health, fitness and well-being services in Spalding and the surrounding area to promote what is on offer here. There is so much available on our doorstep and it is about promoting health and well-being to all ages and backgrounds.

“Our aim is to build on this year’s success and keep growing the show. We would like to see more support from local sports clubs to really help promote what is on offer.”
