A GUIDE dog volunteer roadshow will be held in Spalding next week in the hope of attracting more local people to offer their help.

The Guide Dogs charity is funded by generous donations from the public and it is looking for volunteers to improve the services it offers for blind and partially-sighted people.

A new Spalding branch is being introduced, and Guide Dogs is particularly interested in recruiting local people for the roles of branch secretary, treasurer and branch fundraiser.

Rebekah Shepherd, regional volunteering advisor for Guide Dogs, said: “Volunteering is fun and rewarding – you know you are helping to make a real difference to the lives of blind and partially-sighted people.”

The roadshow will be held at The Cley Hall Hotel on Tuesday from 10am until noon, with various speakers available to talk about the work of the charity and answer any questions about volunteering.
