Spalding Grammar School is celebrating today after its A-level students produced a big boost in the number of A* and A grades.
Top student Kate Halgarth achieved three A*s and one A and is heading off to Nottingham Trent to study fashion management.
Kate’s success was followed by Jack Elsdon with two A*s and two As – and four students each with two A*s and one A, Will Booker, Liam Forsyth, Joe Pegler and Ross Putman.
Headteacher Nigel Ryan described it as “another very pleasing year for Spalding Grammar School students with a significant increase in the number of A* and A grades”.
Including general studies 48.5 per cent of all subject passes were A*-B.
Excluding general studies the A*-B pass rate was 50 per cent.
The school’s overall A*-E pass rate was 98 per cent.
Mr Ryan said: “It has been a pleasure to teach this year group. They and their families can be justly proud of their achievements.
“We wish them all the best for their future careers in which we are confident they will be very successful, as they regularly showed they have a lot more talents in addition to their academic skills to offer.”
