The people of South Holland left Spalding Gentlemen’s Society Museum in no doubt that there is a great deal of interest in its exhibits.
Society members held an experimental Sunday afternoon opening last weekend, just to see what demand there would be for the two tours that were being offered.
Chairman of council Nick Caswell said: “We were very close to being in the embarrassing position of turning people away. We had sixty people through the tours, a delightful lot of visitors. They were very interested in what they found and really keen to make comments on what they like and what they would like to see in the future, so a roaring success.
“Hopefully we’ll be able to repeat it in the near future.”
