Flowers N Things runs regular craft and flower arranging workshops at its Red Lion Street shop.

Happy days at the seaside don’t have to end when you leave the beach.

Summer holiday memory jars are a great way to display little mementos of a special holiday or day out.

This beachy theme is easy to recreate with a bit of sand and some special shells, stones or driftwood that you may have collected along with any miniature souvenirs you have that work with the theme.

We have used a small wooden sailing boat and a beach hut.

This is a project children will love to get involved in, as they will happily collect shells and stones to use.

Any vase or jar would do the job, but try to find an attractive shape.

If you are using a jar you could pop the lid on and glue a shell to the top or tie some raffia or string around it.

Simply collect all of your bits and pieces together and, starting with the sand, layer the different textures in to your container. Carefully place your focal piece in, securing with a little hot glue if required.

This project could not be simpler but gives a very effective display as well as keeping memories.
