A packed public meeting last night (Thursday) discussed how to turn the 'dream' of a Spalding Flower Parade into a reality.

Spalding's Constitutional Club was so busy that many people were left standing outside in the garden hoping to hear campaigner Stephen Timewell and his committee's plans for next year.

Mr Timewell, who launched his campaign to revive the legendary event earlier this month, praised people across the district for their support so far - and urged them to continue in any way they can.

He said: "It is down to the people to make something happen. People want and need this.

"This is the chance to turn a dream into a reality."

Mr Timewell and his team are now looking to fill a number of positions including a logistics manager, parade manager, school co-ordinator while also hoping to create a fundraising team.

See Tuesday's Lincolnshire Free Press for a full report of the meeting and the progress being made so far.
