Amazing Christmas night at Spalding's Woodlands Hotel
Nearly 60 guests enjoyed a fabulous night out in Spalding at a very special Christmas dinner.
Spalding district councillor Gary Taylor joined forces with community fundraiser Glynis Scalese and The Woodlands Hotel, in Pinchbeck Road, to stage the big night.
The aim was to provide a free Christmas dinner for people who might otherwise spend the festive period alone but those attending came from a cross-section of the community.
Coun Taylor contributed £500 from his ward budget and The Woodlands offered a generous discount to enable the event to be staged.
"It was absolutely fantastic," said Glynis. "Everybody was over the moon with it."
There was a selection of starters, roasts and puds, and Sutterton-based South Lincs Foodservice generously donated two bottles of wine for each table.
Morrisons at Pinchbeck also donated gifts such as tins of biscuits for every guest.
Glynis said Gan Seta and his team at The Woodlands did an amazing job.
"It was phenomenal," said Glynis. "We want to do it again next year."
A raffle on the night raised £208 and guests voted for two good causes to share the proceeds, the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance and Cancer Research.
