A car washing and valeting business in Double Street, Spalding has been served with notice to quit.
Mohamed Soucho has been running the business but has had an appeal against a decision not to renew planning permission turned down.
A report to South Holland Council’s planning committee says: “The Inspector considered the use of the property as a car washing and valeting service has been unacceptably harmful on living conditions of adjacent residents, and that a permanent planning permission should not be granted.
“The Inspector was unconcerned with the impact on the Conservation Area.”
People living near the car wash had raised an 80-name petition to save it from being closed down.
South Holland District Council granted temporary planning permission for the business in January 2014 which ran out 12 months later.
But an application for the car wash to stay was turned down last December due to problems with spray and water coming from cars as they are washed and rinsed.
