Building Society The Nottingham’s Spalding branch has become a collection point for a food bank and the team is encouraging people to support those most at need in their community.

They have teamed up with the Agape Care Food Bank to provide the facility, which offers the chance to donate food in-branch.

Anyone who does so by visiting The Nottingham, located at 15 Sheep Market, will be directly helping provide emergency food for people in crisis in the Spalding area.

Branch customer services assistant Emma Smith says: “The Nottingham has a proud tradition of supporting deserving local causes and the food bank is certainly in that category.

“So getting involved was an easy decision to make. We are hoping as many people as possible will contribute.”

The types of non-perishable food items that can be donated include: UHT milk, pasta sauces, squash, sponge pudding, custard, cereals, jam, biscuits, instant mash, noodles, dried milk, sugar, rice pudding, tinned meat, tinned food and long grain rice.
