People just wanted to have fun at Spalding and Gedney Hill while they raised funds for charity.
At South Holland Centre in Spalding, 85 people gathered for a ’70s and ’80s fancy dress night organised by Cathy Levesley.
When she learned a colleague was terminally ill, Cathy organised the night in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, raising a fantastic £411.
She said: “Everyone had a fantastic night and people donated raffle prizes and everyone was so generous. It was awesome. It couldn’t have gone any better.”
Not content with that, Cathy is now planning to tackle the Great North Run in September, and people can show their support by donating on her Just Giving page.
Teresa Bradbury won the best fancy dress prize for her interpretation of BA from the A-Team.
At Gedney Hill Memorial Hall, around 50 people were dancing the night away at a ’70s fancy dress night to raise money for Help for Heroes and Sue Ryder.
Organiser Pauline Moore, who got help from husband Eric and donations of food from friends, said they raised £572 on the night, to be divided between the charities.
She said: “It was a very good evening. Thank you to businesses that donated.”
