Teatime thunderstorms saw some of South Holland’s roads partially flooded because of heavy rain and hail stones.
Spalding was in part sunshine and part cloud as thunder sounded and torrential rain and hail fell yesterday evening, triggering minor flash flooding.
Edinburgh Walk in Holbeach was one of the roads partly flooded and hail stones left an ice sheet across gardens in nearby Fleet Street.
One driver told us: “It hailed so heavily the leaves were thrashed from the trees and the leaves were six inches deep at the side of the road.”
We have had no reports so far of homes affected by flood water.
