South Holland District Council says it is holding a review into meeting of circumstances surrounding meeting with Spalding residents over a mast
South Holland District Council says it is holding an internal review into the circumstances surrounding a planning officer meeting with residents last week.
Controversy has been sparked after it emerged that a planning officer had met with a group of residents in Wygate Park on Friday over a proposal to build on a mast in the Claudette Avenue area.
The district council had issued a statement on Friday over the meeting and said it was disappointed that an officer was put in that position.
The statement says: "On Friday, March 26, SHDC issued a public statement following an incident at Wygate Park in Spalding. As a result of further discussions surrounding the events with those present, some factual inaccuracies have come to light. Therefore, we have taken the decision to remove the original posts.
"SHDC will now be holding a comprehensive internal review of circumstances surrounding the incident. These findings will form part of our Covid compliant protocols around meeting members of the public and also reiterate responsibilities not only to employees and members of the council, but the wider community."
