LEARN MOREA sinkhole which led to an emergency road closure earlier today may have been caused by sewer problems.
The issue arose this morning on Middlegate Road West in Frampton, Boston - near Kirton - with Lincolnshire County Council closing the road to conduct an investigation.
By using a dye to trace the system under the road, emergency work crews believe that an issue with a sewer may have been a contributing factor to the sinkhole.
The council has now contacted Anglian Water, with more investigations to be carried out.
People affected by the issue will be notified when more updates are available and when a programme of repair works are decided upon.
The road is located a short distance from the A16.
