Repairs to stop flooding in Spalding road to continue into weekend, warns Anglian Water

Work is taking place to stop flooding on a Spalding road during times of heavy rainfall.

Temporary traffic lights are in place on St Thomas's Road where a team of engineers from Anglian Water are working to repair a blocked sewer near Spalding Grammar School.

"However, we are hopeful that the lights can be removed over the weekend, however, with repair work set to continue in neighbouring fields.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes and would like to thank customers and road users for their patience while we complete these emergency repairs."

The sewer repairs are in addition to work on a sinkhole that opened up in the Albion Street area of Spalding last Thursday.

Albion Street is currently closed while Anglian Water engineers try to resolve a problem which first emerged on Thursday.
