Celebrations are in order for a Sutterton woman after scooping silver in the International Cake Competition.

Sharon Barnsdale-Hall has been designing and creating cakes for family and friends for almost 10 years. After being made redundant she took the decision to making this into a small business and has had continued success ever since.

She said: “When we hit the pandemic last year, and lockdown measures were introduced, it meant a sudden halt to all weddings and celebrations that were planned so this affected me immensely.

“I decided to enter Cake International at the NEC in Birmingham for the first time. The category I chose was three-tiered wedding cakes and there were so many beautiful creations on display.”
