A regular column from South Holland Centre in Spalding.
The pantomime fairy dust may have settled for another year but the South Holland Centre stage will sparkle once again on Wednesday, January 27 at 1.30pm with a wonderful new interactive show called Shiny for under 5s.
Created by dance artists Liz Clark and Oksana Tyminska and based on many years of working with children and families, this shimmering experience really does dazzle from start to finish. Shiny invites children aged six months to four years and their families into a long forgotten room, where two people find friendship, joy, and treasures that turn from ordinary to extraordinary. Shiny boxes, Shiny mirrors, Shiny fabric, Shiny tapping feet... there’s even a Shiny flutter alert!
At South Holland Centre the audience will sit on the main stage around the performance and watch and play as all that glitters unfolds before their very eyes. Having seen the show last year, mum of George (aged 3) and Erin (aged 8 months) said: “Shiny is a full family experience beautifully paced... we came back twice to see it!” while mum of Isaac (aged 4) said it was “simply awesome”.
But anyone thinking of coming along doesn’t have to take their word for it, as there’s a chance to have a sneak preview of this gorgeous show by watching a short trailer on our website.
Tickets are available from www.southhollandcentre.co.uk or by calling our Box Office on 01775 764777 and prices are £6, with under 2s free of charge. There are some special group prices too: £22 for a family ticket and £5.50 per ticket for groups of 8+.
The centre’s first-floor café will be serving their regular children’s menu at lunchtime. The show runs for 45 minutes – just enough time to get home for an afternoon nap before tea.
