Worth Farms in Holbeach Hurn is holding an open day next month to offer local people the chance to experience the sights and sounds of a working farm up close.
The event – on Sunday, June 7 – forms part of Open Farm Sundays, a national initiative that sees hundreds of farmers across the country open their gates to members of the public once a year.
There will be sheep shearing, a display of large tractors and combines, vintage tractors and a farm quiz.
Members of the public will also have the chance to find out how local food waste, such as vegetable peelings, is being transformed into clean, renewable energy at Worth Farms’ on-site anaerobic digestion facility operated by Tamar Energy.
The approach to the event will be signposted on the day at the satnav code is PE128LW. The open day runs from 11am to 4pm – there is no charge and no need to book.Hot and cold refreshments will be for sale all day.
