A RESIDENT claims he was laughed at when he reported “sewage” seeping on to a public footpath.
The Gedney Drove End man, who did not to want to be named, said he complained to Anglian Water about brown, smelly water from a dyke leaking across the footpath in Dawsmere Road.
He said: “They laughed at me when I told them, but it’s sewage.
“There are static caravans down there and, on the other side, a mains sewage plant.
“Children go down there and it’s smelly and not nice.”
A spokesman for Anglian Water said the claim the customer was laughed at was being investigated. The spokesman said: “We do not like the idea of customers feeling they are being treated badly.
“The problem was treated water, not sewage, caused by of a blockage in the dyke from people dumping rubbish in it.
“It has now been cleared.”
