Seashell surprises in Bourne estate
Bags of seashells have been left around the Elsea Park estate in Bourne to brighten the days of the finders.
The bags were left by lampposts around the estate with messages inside such as: “Can’t visit the seaside? Don’t worry - seashells visit you instead.”
It is not the first time anonymous bags of gifts have been found – knitted and crocheted items have also been left around.
The Elsea Park Community Trust is responsible for looking after areas of open space and the community centre on the estate.
Its chairman Jono Brough said of the kind gestures: “This goes to shows what a wonderful place we live in.It’s a fantastic gesture and I’ve seen countless posts on social media from families sharing their findings.
“This anonymous act of kindness is testament to the fantastic community spirit and desire to put a smile on people’s faces, especially in what has been a very difficult time for many.
“It would be great if this
inspires more people to do something similar, as there’s nothing better than making someone smile.”
