School’s in for summer – or at least it has been in for five glorious days with fun activities for younger students at Spalding High School.
Lara Ray, who is involved in running Summer School 2015, explained: “It’s a five-day summer scheme for new intake students, along with some of the current Year 7 and 8s.
“We have 165 students who are in a time of transition, so they can make friends, have fun and get used to being at Spalding High School during the five days.
“This is our fifth or sixth year of running the summer scheme and, even though it’s tiring for us, it’s good fun.”
Youngsters were engaged in high energy activities like aerobics, football, lacrosse and clambering up a specially installed climbing wall.
They rehearsed and performed The Lion King – a drama that also gave them an opportunity to use their artistic skills to design and make their own costumes.
The summer school ended yesterday (Wednesday) with awards and a party.
