COVID-19 case at University Academy Holbeach
The principal of the University Academy Holbeach has confirmed that 'a member of the school community' has tested positive for COVID-19.
Sheila Paige says she has been in contact with Public Health Lincolnshire and together they have undertaken a risk assessment .
In a letter to parents Miss Paige says: "I have been advised that the time line of activity around the school, the wearing of face masks and the observing of the two metrerule has mitigated any risk of transmission to other staff and pupils.
"I should like to thank pupils for their excellent efforts in supporting the measures that we have in place. We will continue to remain open to all our learners and will continue with our health and safety measures.
"I am not at liberty to disclose the name of the person concerned but ask that we continue to follow the school guidance by washing/sanitising our hands and by wearing face masks in communal areas as a minimum.
"In addition to this, it is essential that we continue to observe the important two metre distance between staff and pupils except in exceptional circumstances.
"I should like to take this opportunity to remind everyone about the importance of observing the Government guidelines in relation to support bubbles and mixing with people from outside of your household.
"Please be assured that the school is regularly reviewing our practice and will continue to adhere to Government guidelines."
