Memories of the great war

The above portrait group is of a number of girls attending the Long Sutton Council Schools who had created a remarkable school attendance record. Altogether there were 16 girls, the front line having six years’ unbroken attendance to their credit, the second row five years and the third row four years. Their names reading from left to right were: front row - Dorothy Patrick, Millicent Watts, Jennie Patrick and Maud Royce; second row - Edith Gooidman, Doris Barker, Flossie Franks and Florence Watts; back row - Alice Taylor, Annie Hallam, Elsie Garner, Gladys Walker, may Frow, Linda Payling, Laura Amos and Gladys Tombleson.
