Christmas officially arrives in Spalding on Sunday when the town’s lights are switched on.
The switch will be thrown at 4.30pm with assistance from Tulip Radio, the Rotary Club of South Holland, Santa, Spalding Flower Queen Inca Honnor and MP John Hayes, followed by carol singing and prayers.
The day’s fun begins earlier, with entertainment from singers, dancers and more on the main stage in Hall Place from 10.30am.
An animal show is at 11.30am, with prizes for best dressed, best behaved and best trick.
A Classic Car Show is in Sheep Market and Vine Street car parks, and a School Choirs Competition from 2pm. There’s also a chance to shop for presents at the Christmas market and enjoy street entertainment throughout the day from brass bands, morris dancers, folk musicians and panto characters.
