Popular Holbeach charity shop Chosen has donated £1,000 to help a recruitment drive for the local Samaritans branch.

On Saturday, Chosen joint manager Iris Boland invited Jenny Storf, of King’s Lynn Samaritans, to accept the cheque.

Chosen has a reputation for helping local individuals and organisations and King’s Lynn Samaritans were delighted to be the unanimous choice of everyone involved with the charity shop.

When asked why the group had been nominated, Iris said: “They do a great job and do it quietly without seeking publicity. They rely upon the generosity of the public to recruit and train the volunteers and to finance the services that are available to anyone seeking emotional support.

“The decision to help our local branch, King’s Lynn Samaritans, was supported unanimously by everyone here at Chosen and we are all absolutely delighted that we could help.”
