Rockits rock event to help rescue dogs

A little bit of Liverpool came to Spalding when a resident band from the famous Cavern Club rocked at a dog charity event.

Fifties and 60s tribute band The Rockits were headline act at Castle Sports Complex on Saturday, helping to raise £2043.73 for Central German Shepherd Rescue. Organisers were Mark and Marlene Aspden, Bev Chamberlain and Kevin Clow of Leo Promotions. Proceeds will provide emergency boarding for the rescue dogs at Highfield Kennels, which is run by Marlene.
