Motorists in Spalding are being warned that roadworks that have brought sections of the town to a standstill are to continue until the end of April.
A ten-week project by National Grid to replace gas pipes able to ensure “safe and reliable gas supplies until the end of the century” is now not due to end until April 29.
This means that a section of London Road, between Haverfield Road and Vine Street, which was expected to be re-opened by April 8 will remain closed.
However, motorists can travel southbound into Haverfield Road from London Road only and a one-way system in place between Francis Street and Priory Road will be suspended so that traffic can travel both ways.
But some parking bays and disabled parking will be temporarily suspended while the work is underway.
