Openreach due to finish cable replacement in Spalding's Halmer Gate at the end of the weekend
Roadworks which caused gridlock in a busy Spalding road are due to be finished by the end of the weekend.
Brylaine put out a warning that some of its services were due to be delayed this morning due to the roadworks in Halmer Gate.
Engineers from Openreach are replacing a section of cable in the road but motorists have raised concerns about the traffic lights.
A spokesperson for Openreach has apologised for the frustrations caused to motorists.
He said: “Unfortunately we need to replace a section of cable that serves around 200 properties in the area.
“Traffic lights have been put in place to allow our engineers to carry out this essential work safely so that we can restore service as quickly as possible.
“We appreciate the frustration that roadworks can cause and would like to thank the local community for their patience. Subject to any unforeseen problems we anticipate completing the work be end of this weekend.”
