Crowland to get road repairs costing £180,000

An ageing section of the Hulls Drove, Crowland, is set to be repaired in a £180,000 scheme next month.

Lincolnshire County Council says roadworks are due to begin on Monday, November 4 and are expected to be completed by Friday,November 22, subject to favourable weather.

The road will be closed during the improvements, with traffic diverted via the A16 Spalding bypass, B1357 Moulton Chapel Road, B1165 Broadwater Lane, B1165 Ravens Gate and B1168 Holbeach Drove Gate.

Roadworks are to be completed around Lakenheath area (7836536)

Karen Cassar, assistant director highways, said: "This section of the road is coming to the end of its life and it's important we get it replaced. That way it will remain safe for motorists.

"There will be some short-term inconvenience while the works are carried out, and we'd ask drivers to be patient, allow additional time for their journeys and use alternative routes where possible."

There was a serious accident on Hulls Drove - the B1166 - in June when a transporter full of cars went into a ditch.

* Major roadworks costing £100,000 are due to re-start at Sutton Bridge next week.
