There were two retirement presentations at Gedney Drove End School in 1989.

Both governor Thomas Fines and headmaster Peter Dewdney were leaving the school.

Mr Fines (left) had been a governor for 42 years and had been on the selection panel when Mr Dewdney had been appointed in 1974.

Mr Dewdney was leaving to become a Methodist minister.
