Surfleet Primary School youngsters take part in Remembrance

Pupils from Surfleet Primary School took part in a special Remembrance Service in the village this morning (Friday) alongside other village residents.

Youngsters from the Station Road school attended the service at St Laurence Church before laying a wreath and crosses at the war memorial in memory of the men who died in World War One.

They also read poems in the church.

Villagers will gather at the church again on Sunday for another Remembrance Service at 10.30am and that evening, at 6.30pm, there will be a Battle's Over Celebration in Glen Park, with a commemorative lighting of the beacon at 7pm, bell ringing at 7.05pm, then home-made soup and bread rolls in the village hall.
